African Church Community Secondary School in Ewupe, a community hosting Shell Nigeria Gas(SNG) facilities in Ota, Ogun State has enjoyed a donation of ICT center and well-equipped science laboratories.
The gesture is one of the company’s social responsibilities program outreached to host communities.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the handover of the projects to Ogun State government, Managing Director of SNG, Ed Ubong, said: “Our goal is to support the government and other relevant agencies to close the gap of educational inequality between pupils of public schools and their counterparts in private schools.”
Ogun State Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technology Mrs. Modupe Mujota commended SNG’s gesture while receiving the facilities and advised the Staff and students of the beneficiary schools to use it upscale their academic performance.
Alhaji Monsuru Akande, the community chairman of Ewupe also expressed their gratitude to Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) for the gesture and charge the government to create an enabling environment for SNG and other companies supporting community development.
