Facebook to Make Ads More Transparent
The giant social media platform, Facebook has made it known to the public that they will roll out new measures that will control political ads on the platform in which political ads owner will be required to verify their identities and locations and the post will include “Paid for by”.
The Facebook Vice President of ads products, Rob Goldman wrote on his blog posts that when clicking on the disclosure, users will be able to find out the details about the advertisers.
He stated in the post that; “Transparency helps everyone, especially for political watchdog groups and reporters, keep advertisers accountable for who they are and what they say to different groups.”
The test will start in Canada by November and will be roll out to the US by next summer and the measures will take place the same time in other countries.
